I lose track of the days. I thought today was monday, until someone said that it was thursday. Then a PFC (thats "Private First Class") pointed out that it's wednesday. Go figure. We'll be on a mission for 30 hours, then sit around for 4 days waiting on another mission. Twiddling our thumbs, watching movies, playing chess, building something from the scrap wood pile behind our "hooch" (hooch is a common military term for somthing that looks like a place to sleep, but in all actuallity, it just sucks)
We had our first mishap two days ago, one of my Marines was doing his last pre-check on his truck, just before we rolled, and stepped on a loose board on the 870 trailer. The board popped up and smacked him in the face, he ended up with 6 stitches. I had to take him off the convoy and send him to medical. He was pissed, but it had to be done. So, which means i filled his spot as a driver, and i pulled one of the Corpsmen (medics) and put him as my a-driver (thats military for 'passenger'). i havn't driven a truck like that in over 3 years. Not to mention we were rolling black out (no lights) so i had NVG's (night vision goggles) mounted to my kevlar (helmet). If anyone has ever seen a military ECP (entry control point) they know the snake you have to drive through is tight. I figured i was going to hit a barrier, but somehow, i managed to miss them all. I was actually disappointed.
Thats all for now, gotsta work.

Jerry,
it's good to hear from you. you're welcome to hit Pat's car when you get back (instead of the barriers..:0)
take care of yourself.
